Alienated Grandparents

Meetings Return

Generally, our clients identify within three broad categories:

Custodial Grandparents are those who are full-time or the primary carers of their Grandchildren and represent the largest proportion;

Sentinel Grandparents are those who, for a plethora of reasons and a sense of real concern, maintain a watchful eye over their Grandchildren and their comings and goings to ensure they are being properly cared for;

Alienated Grandparents which is a worldwide problem and affects the innocent children as well as the heartbroken grandparents who, once again for many and varied reasons, are denied the right to see each other.GFGSA has been holding Alienated Grandparents’ Meetings in our office for several years now, which of course had to temporarily cease due the COVID-19 restrictions. I am pleased to advise that the easing of these restrictions has allowed one of our larger meeting rooms to accommodate a viable number of guests and these meetings can now resume!

As previously, they will be held on the fourth Wednesday of every month commencing this month:

Date:    Wednesday 22 July 2020
Time:    10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Venue: GFGSA Board Room, L2, 345 King William Street Adelaide

Unfortunately, the old routine of just arriving cannot be permitted at this time, as we do need to carefully monitor numbers. So for our regulars and for new Alienated Grandparents who are warmly welcomed, registration is essential please.

Now is the time to email our Alienated Grandparent Coordinator Colleen at colleen@gfgsa.com.au or call her on 9212 1937 to register your interest in coming along.

Hope to see you there.
